The de-shedding groom is ideal for smooth and double-coated breeds, to keep the coat and skin healthy. Double coats shouldn't be clipped as their coats are specially designed to keep them warm in cold weather AND cool in summer.

The de-shedding groom uses drying and brushing tools and techniques to keep your dog's coat healthy and shiny and reduce all that dog-hair around the home. This groom includes:

Your dog will be treated to the luxury Hydrobath experience, with shampoos and treatments tailored to their coat and needs, followed by a salon dry, brush and comb through.

Hand stripping is the manual plucking of dead topcoat hair from the root, primarily for wire-coated breeds like Terriers, Schnauzers, and Spaniels.

Instead of cutting the hair, this technique removes shedding fur, which preserves the coat's wiry texture, rich colour, and natural weather-resistant qualities.

These sessions are designed to introduce your puppy gradually to the new sounds and sensations of the grooming salon, to prevent any future stress or anxiety associated with grooming and turn it into a positive, enjoyable experience.

 

A dog who is comfortable and confident in the salon will enjoy their regular grooming visits and happily allow the groomer to do their best work, so they can leave the salon feeling and looking great!

Over 3-4 shorter, more regular, sessions, I will introduce your puppy to the grooming process, working up to their first full groom. These can begin once they are fully vaccinated.
